Point and shoot vs new cell phone Camera?

I know I kind of mentioned it in my post above, but that little ELPH 100 HS is pretty amazing for the price/size. Small as any phone (a bit thicker), image stabilization, nice video, backside illuminated sensor, good Canon lens. The battery lasts 2-400 shots so far, only on the 3rd charge since Christmas.

My sister recently bought a Lumix LX5 but ever since she bought her Galaxy S II, she hasn't touched that camera ever since. A decent phone should easily replace a point and shoot but there is also this time aspect that comes with it. Maybe it's just personal preference but somehow it feels like taking with a camera phone is somewhat time consuming than a point and shoot. But yeah, I think you should go with a phone rather than a point and shoot if you're concerned about costs. Plus it can do a lot more things than just take pictures.
