Point and shoot - Thoughts ?

I don't always want to take my cameras out when I'm adventuring, and my phone isn't the best for pictures. Can anyone suggest a decent point and shoot that has some measure of optical zoom and DoF option so I can get near-pro photos without having to lug around my Camera and Lenses. Thanks!

everyone knows AMD's APU's are better for point and shoot due to better GPU integration to process HDR in real time etc.

panasonic zs series
canon sx280/260

low zoom point and shoots (good image quality, ~$200-300)
canon s95/100/110/etc (really small/easy to pocket)
panasonic lx7

low zoom larger sensor point and shoots (~$250-600)
sony rx100
fuji x100/x10
pentax mx-1

I gotta dis-agree with "fits in pocket" for the LX7 on the basis of an LX3 as I own one.. unless they've gotten smaller I would not consider this a pocket camera although a very good camera none the less

I didn't say the lx7 fits in pockets, I said the canon s does.
The lx7 will fit in jacket pockets or cargo pants and other big pockets though.
