Pohle: Would you buy one (a Chevy Nomad that is)?

I am a big fan of old chevy cars, but this thing is an ugly (probably a POS) car. It looks like a magnum that got squished.

negative .. i need some lines on a vehicle. that has none. i'm not a fan. i'd pick the dodge magnum over that.

Well, considering that the two cars are in totally difference classes, and don't even compete with each other 😕

RWD.....CHECK 😀
I'd be all over it. They better have an option to stuff a small block under that hood. 😀

Seriously though, this is the design direction that Chevy needs to take. Chrysler has been doing well with this type of design and this is IMO much nice looking.

If they made it, priced it at $17K, I'd be all over it like a fat kid on cake (wait...I am a fat kid...😕 )

Looking at the poll choices, I see that you must have looked at my post over at VWV/TCL.

Don't be stealing my material foo!!!!! 😀

Lol - yes I did 😛 Sorry - it was just too funny for me not too - I have added you to the OP 😛

I prefer function over form, and that thing's all about "style" instead. Same problem with the original Nomad. All show. A wagon's GOT to have four doors, for starters. This is why it died so quickly. This new one may have a chance though, because our brainless consumers of today, are more concerned with style than anything else!

It owuld be functional for me - a single male who hauls around all kinds of junk 😛

So lengthen the chassis a few inches and put 4 doors on it. Easily done. Remember that this is a concept. That design could just as easily be a coupe or a sedan too with minimal changes.

As for the Nomads having only 2 doors, so did the Suburbans (called "Carryalls" or "Panel Wagons" then) of the time. Pretty typical then.

There's no room, yet that's what wagons are for. I could haul more crap in a minivan than that thing. It's all show, and that's it. There's a reason the 2dr. haulers of the '50s, didn't make it to the 60's, with the exception of the pickup, which is ALL FUNCTION.

That little xB engine doesn't have enough grunt for ya? 😛

I like the styling to a certain point. It's somewhat aerodynamic, compact, has a slight European resemblence, and looks as if it has a decent amount of storage space. It would fit my uses quite well.

I'm a sucker for wagons/hatchbacks, but I'm just not feeling that one. Same thing for the Magnum. I appreciate the idea behind it, but just feel like they compromised too much on the functionality of the back end for the sake of looks.
