POE Adapter question

Is it safe to run a POE device through a regular patch panel? Here's what I have right now for a set up:

Cable modem-router-Gb Switch- patch panel - non poe devices

I want to connect take a POE power injector adapter before the patch panel and run the POE cable through one of the ports on the patch panel while the non POE end of the adapter connects to the switch. Will this be fine or should I put the adapter after the patch panel? This will be powering a POE camera.

Also agree. The only note I would add is that you are fine as long it is a normal PoE adapter and not one those "custom only for X devices" ones. The panel and cable itself will be fine but that port on the other end might become an "ethernet killer" for other devices.

Thankfully this pretty rare now as most people got on the proper PoE bandwagon.
