After using my ZuneHD 16gb for the last few years Im looking to replace it with my Samsung GS3. The trouble I am having is finding an app to manage my podcasts as well as my zune does. What apps do you guys recommend? Thanks

Pockets Cats looks really good but I am not liking how I cant mark an episode as done, the interface is much flashier but I still like DC better

Trying and enjoying BeyondPod so far. I was able to use my Amazon credit to purchase the full version.

BeyondPod for me. One nice park is that buying the full version gives you the unlock key for both the phone and tablet versions. The tablet version is a bit cluttered compared to the awesome phone version, but does what it needs to do for me.

DoggCatcher. I listen to a tonne of podcasts and this program does everything perfectly. I've tried other programs, but this one is my favourite.

Recycling thread because the new PocketCasts 4.0 came out tonight. Unbelievable, first Android podcast app to have native variable speed which is huge for me.
If you haven't tried the new version yet, do it. Its pretty much left all other podcast apps in the dust with all the new features.

Yeah I've been using Pocket Casts for a while. Got it when it was the free app of the day on Amazon, but then the maker stopped releasing updates for the Amazon version. It was so good I decided to buy it on the Play Store anyway and it's been worth it.

I've installed the latest version but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Looking forward to it.

Way better than every other podcast app I've ever used. Google Listen is buggy and I also tried BeyondPod, which was complex and bloated.

I see no reason to switch from DoggCatcher at this point. Does look nice though.

Thank god they updated Pocket Casts. I really liked it for awhile and then it became cumbersome to use once I got way behind in what I was listening to...the way that it is organized gets confusing, such as when you download episodes they disappear from the list, just kind of weird stuff it does.

Hopefully it is better now, not that it was bad before but I do think Podkicker is easier to use but didn't do as much, and maybe not as well.

Edit: Just looked at Pocket Casts for a second and it looks pretty brilliant the way it is set up... now you go into a podcast feed and if it is downloaded then there is a play icon next to it, and if it isn't there is an arrow to download, if I'm understanding it correctly. That is a nice improvement and makes it much simpler.

No past episodes or designating a specific number of shows is not good but it looks great visually, especially compared to the one I use but functionality is better for me on dc

They just released an update this morning that lets you get past episodes.

My two remaining complaints with it are:

1. No dark theme, only white now (worse for battery life on AMOLED and too bright at night)
2. When you search, then go to one podcast to check it out, you can't go back to your search results. If you press the back button it takes you to the main screen and you have to repeat the search. I'm sure they'll fix it though.

I use PodKicker on my phone, and BeyondPod on my tablets. Picked up the paid version of BeyondPod on a Play Store sale.

You should contact them with your request. They have been excellent with updates, they just updated to include a widget.

Yeah, I already did. Hopefully they do the search thing since that's a little more minor and I'm not sure how many people really noticed.
