Pocket PC FTW

I love plugging mine into my MCE box and having all my latest recorded TV on there automatically. Transcoded HD recordings look amazing.

Yep, it takes a long time though. Overnight is good enough to transcode and transfer 4 or 5 shows though (most that'll fit on what remains of my 2gb minisd, maybe I'll wipe all the music off of it and see if it can fill it up overnight, shows are about 120mb/hr) -- I wish the MCE sync system was a little more robust, honestly. I'd like to be able to just "right click" (info button on remote) any show and automatically transcode and copy to device instead of its current reliance on playlists. :/

It takes me about 15 minutes to encode one Family Guy episode on my 2.8ghz P4. I can't wait until MiniSD becomes more common so larger sizes are made. As for now, 2Gb is the largest you can buy, while other popular memory cards are up to 4Gb now. 🙁

I haven't actually clocked how long it takes, but it's definitely slower than most other encoders. It's just a breeze to plug it in, wake up and have your phone charged and full of TV! 😀 I wouldn't be surprised if transfering the shows takes a godawful long time as well, the MDA is only USB1.1 :|
