Pocket PC and a light-weight notebook: Worth it? OR does a Pocket PC make a Notebook unnecessary?

OK, for someone who has a ultra-light notebook(about 4 pounds), is a Pocket PC nearly redundant? I'm trying to convince me that I need that Ipaq H1915 🙂

I would use it for meetings that we have at work, and when someone runs up to me "Hey, can you do that for me", just to remember these things. Do you guys think it's worth it? Decisions... decisions...

Mine made my notebook useless... i use Fitaly to type with it, and i can get well over 60wpm with it... which is MUCH faster than i can write, and just under what i can type without errors.

i have a PPC and a ultra lightweight notebook and they are both useful. My PDA is used when i need to quickly jot things down or write down an appointment, while my notebook is useful for writing reports, surfing the web, etc. Get both 😀

hehe, ok, I'm getting the Ipaq 1915 then and maybe a Latitude D600 🙂

But doesn't the battery-life of those Pocket PCs suck?

Big hands you say? It doesn't matter, it has hand writing recognition! AND it runs Linux (that's useable and has icons and all other Windowsy thingy)... 😀

Yeah, my PDA gets 4-5 hrs easily.

As for keyboard... bah, i guarantee you that you'll write much faster with Fitaly... much faster than any thumb pad or hand recognition software out there. Like i said, i can type 60+ wpm with it.

EDIT: I wouldn't even bother with a notebook if you already have a desktop... there's nothing you can't do on the PDA that you could do on the notebook.

BTW, if you need to actually make documents with it, get Textmaker... it's MUCH better than Pocket Word. Believe it or not, i prefer using textmaker than even using my desktop Word.

I dont' like the finish on that... why couldn't they offer a version that emulates the cover that came with the old 38xx series? I loved that.

I love my Zaurus, the built in thumbpad and CF/SD slots made me pull the trigger. That way I can have my wireless NIC in the CF slot and be able to increase my memory with the SD slot. Size is pretty decent considering what is offers...

a nice light weight tablet pc would be nice =)

i wish the pda was larger, but that's not going to happen. maybe soemthing with a screen 2x the size as a mini tablet pc. that's about the size of an average novel's page.
