my outlook is acting up and all my appointments got deleted.
Is there a way I can force the direction outlook synchs with my pocket pc?
I would like the pocket pc to ignore all changes (and by god do not delete the appointments on the pocket pc!!!) and overwrite outlook (at least for the calender).
Please help! I urgently need to get this working!

yes you can do this, I am assuming you have activesync 3.5 or later to do this (latest version is 3.7 but you dont want to upgrade at the moment) there do not connect your PDA, if it is connected disconnect it, also while disconnected make sure that it stays powered when all battery of a PDA is gone all data is lost.

there go into options,
select rules and in conflict resolution set:
"always replace the item on this computer", that way outlook should always place the items back to your PC even when the PC has them deleted.

after that operation you might want to clean up a bit because you might have double items. but a PDA is normally a good backup device for your outlook data, but you should not rely on it entirely, because it only "remembers" the past two weeks of past appointments etc, unless you have changed that setting offcourse. in the future check your outlook data files (there is an option to see these) and make a backup of those, next time you have outlook installed you can immediatly point it to those datafiles and you will have everything back as when you had it backed up, it's also a wise thing to make some batchfile to make a copy of your outlook data file onto another drive or (preferrably) over lan, when they are so important to you.
