pocket dialing?

Hey there,

So I have been having a small issue... And its related to these new devices with screens that are ultra sensitive and can be used with gloves... Like my HTC One. Whenever I place the phone in my pocket, while the screen is off/locked, I can hear my "dings" as something is being typed/dialed.

Clearly my leg is touching soft keys as I move through my jeans. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a solution to solve this?

An example would be that I left anandtech on and my leg managed to type a rather obscure and random post that a moderator inquired with me on. It is really annoying and it happens constantly.

Much obliged!

Make sure turn off screen before putting in pocket. Even when I've left the screen on I've not had problems with this.

Put back of phone against leg instead of screen? I don't know... I don't have a constant issue. I think it might have happened before but I can't remember if it was locked at the time.

I thought of that but I do rough and tough work that puts my phone screen at risk if I face the screen out <3

zayd, the chance of being able to unlock your phone in your pocket is really really really low.. it is far more likely you pocketed it when it was still active. That said, if you want to be sure, pass word your lock screen.

I've seen people complaining about this pocket dial thing on the HTC One and I still don't get how this is possible. First the pocket needs to push the power button to wake up the screen, and then right away within 10 seconds the pocket needs to unlock the screen by swiping up (assuming it can do that). This just seems so unlikely to me.

Get a small pouch and hang it on your belt.

Is there an option to disable the ultra sensitive screen feature? My Lumia 521 has it and it can be turned off, although I haven't needed to (can't hurt that the power button is very stiff).

I think it happens when you theres an event that wakes my screen. My pocket answered a phone call today.
