so i was playing planetside last night everything was fine, shut the computer down. today around 4 after work i checked my email etc, went to play planetside, and it had an error saying my video card doesnt have enough memory to play, you need at least 32mb.

tried running 3dmark, on the second test it stopped due to a memory error.

when i look at the video card specs, it says ti4200 16mb.

i reinstalled the drivers, same problem still.

did i just lose a bunch of ram modules? should i give PNY a call expecting that im going to have to rma it?

go to nvidia properties and check how much ram you have there.

Ive had a similar problem with my Geforce 2mx 64mb at the startup screen where it says the vga name and memory does it say 128mb there or 16mb. If it says 16mb reset the computer a few times without shutting it down and hope it will show 128mb. Generally works for me:light:

I bad flashed my Leadtek. Emailed them about what to do and they got me sorted out. (I managed to flash the bios myself properly without a display so I was impressed by myself)

Email PNY and see what they say. Try what you can find here while you wait for a reply. Once PNY reply, try what they say and if that doesnt work, call for an RMA.

it does show 128mb at startup, but under system properties is where it shows low.

ok this is weird, heres what has now happened. i installed my backup tnt2 64 pro so i could play planetside. boy is that thing crappy, 32mb meets the minimum requirements. used it for a couple hours.

put the gf4 back in, now it shows 32mb under system properties. the next day (yesterday) i reinstalled the drivers, now it shows 128mb again, and everything seems fine.

Shut down the computer, disconnect the power cord from the power supply, Take out the video card and check for any dirt on the cards gold contacts or in the AGP slot. Reseat the card and make sure it is in completely. Reconnect the power cord and fire her up.
Hopefully it was just a bad card seat or dirt. If this doesnt work, try the card in another system or in a friends system if they will let you. This will help rule out whether its the card or the AGP slot or Mobo. Also, see what the BIOS of the card is reporting on startup.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the replies. i am having other issues as well, the onboard lan is periodically going out on my asus P4PE, have to restart to get it working again. im probly going to do a clean install of windows.

i asked in another thread but didnt get any replies, hwere are the .PST files exactly for saving my outlook email stuff. messeges, folders etc. i tried looking, but didnt find anything, i want to back these up before i format.

Open Outlook----> choose tools--->services--->Double click on personal folders.

This will show you the path to your .pst file.
There is also a .pab file which is your personal address book.
Check them both.
