I know that both are good brands but which one is better when it comes to overclocking . What do u guyz have to say abt Crosair

In my humble opinion, the Mushkin is the absolute best stuff out there. Most stable, and overclocks with nary a problem. Others may disagree, but that's my $.02

Just so you know.....

Mushkin is a DISTRIBUTOR, and they buy memory like the rest of us. As long as you get a module w/ quality chips (Mosel, Siemens/Infineon, Micron) & a 6 layer PCB you are good to go IMHO.

I've always thought PNY was regarded as junk. I'm not sure where I got that idea.. mabey because its the only stuff compusa and staples sell.

Probably the best memory modules for o/cing are those from Corsair, Mushkin and Crucial (a trademark of Micron). Maybe Kingmax, too.

That is not to say that PNY is not good memory. I favor the Mushkin because it has always worked well for me. Others would say pretty much the same about Crucial or Corsair. PNY might be just as good, but I'm not willing to take the chance to find out.

Crucial is a division of parent company Micron. They make memory modules using memory chips made by Micron (obviously).

As for PNY, they make decent quality memory modules, it just depends on the particular type of memory chips they happen to use. Corsair and Mushkin are in the same situation. All three make quality modules though, or they wouldn't back them by a lifetime warranty. You can usually judge the quality of most any product by the type of warranty the manufacturer offers. If they don't have faith in themselves, why should you? And no manufacturer will warrant their product for long if they know the product will not last as it is always in their favor to keep warranty costs to the absolute bare minimum.
