PNY has poor customer service

:( My PNY 7300 GS went out after a few months. I sent it back to PNY under the warranty. They send me a "replacement" but when I received the package and opened it I found it was empty. For a bad video card they gave me an empty box. I called PNY several times but could never get anyone. I emailed and filled out PNY's web form numerous times and mostly they did not respond at all. When they did, the response was vague. Finally they responded to my claim about sending me an empty box and refused to send my video card. Basically they called me a liar. This is without even checking the serial number of the card they claim they sent. So PNY video cards go out (2nd one for me), they have extremely poor customer service response, and they will not honor their warranty. Buyer beware.

no more PNY stuff for me. I think I've owned a couple. At least it wasn't a real expensive high end card.

good point. I wouldn't expect a company to believe me if I told a story like that, but it can be a simple mistake on their part with sending him a empty box. I am sure they didn't do it on purpose. But I do somewhat believe him. He could be trolling but what does he have to gain by making up a story like that? By any chance did the box look tampered with when you got it? Like it had been opened and taped back?

Heh, I have heard people getting defective replacements, but nothing as bad as getting an empty box.

Agreed. After a few bad experiences with PNY myself I decided never to buy their stuff again.

I never got an empty box, but they once sent me a lesser grade card for the one that I sent them. However, they did not give me any problem exchanging it for the correct card.

I've heard that PNY is so-so with their customer service, so I've just stayed away from them to be safe.

I've had a positive experience. I bought a PNY USB 2.0 Flash Drive in Dec 2004. It had a 1 year warranty. Before the end of the warranty period, the outer case broke on the inside and the inner, metal, part of the drive was lose. The drive would still work but connecting and disconnecting it to a USB port was difficult in that condition. They replaced the drive.

I also received a rebate on a PNY video card that was the fastest rebate I've ever received. The rebate check came exactly two weeks after I mailed it to them.
