I monitored the price for PNY GeForce4 Ti4600 at pricegrabber and pricewatch for the past week or so. I noticed the price is dropping sharply. It is only $234 at pricegrabber right now. I am quite surprised by this because I thought I would have to pay a much higher price for the card just weeks ago.

Friends of mine who bought the card told me they are having lots of problems with the card. Is the price related to the problematicness of the card, or just because of Radeon 9700 Pro facotr? Btw, the price for Visiontek Ti4600 dropped for a short period dropped but now went up. Now at $289.

Hmmm...anyone could share some insights? Is the PNY price going to drop even furthur?

Thanks,

wanchan

I believe the PNY card is made by MSI and they happen to make the cheapest in price 4600's around. The MSI 4600 is around 230 shipped on pricewatch.

Are you thinking about purchasing a 4600? I am thinking about it myself. Just out of curiosity...how much were 4600's a few months ago? I haven't really been keeping up with prices. I just feel like my ATI Radeon 32 DDR needed an upgrade and I can't wait any longer. Someone told me the MSI 4600 have a loud fan and subpar 2D image quality. But I also heard they didn't from some owners as well. How about the Albatron 4600? I think the lowest is 221 on pricewatch. I'm definitly going to order a new video card within 2 weeks. I hope they come down in price a little more :)

2-3 weeks ago the pny ti4600 was around USD 290 i think.

many of my friends and colleagues own Visiontek ti4600, and are very happy with it. btw, whatever make you choose, get a decent power supply, at least 350watts. the ti4600 cards do eat up lots of juicy. personally, i recommend Enermax power supply. better spend some money on it, you wont regret.

regarding Albatron 4600, i am sure some1 else will share the insights.
