Hi, I've had the video card in the subject line for about 5 months now, and it recently just started acting up -- freezing during games, sometimes while playing movie files, unless I take my Vornado (tm) house fan and place it right next to the case at full blast. I've tried two different mobos, updating AGP drivers, bios, about 10 different Detonator drivers, all to no avail. It seems very odd that a card would suddenly start heating up like this for no reason -- I've checked the fan, cleared out some dust, but it all seems to be normal as far as I can tell.

What I'd like to ask is: (feel free to answer any/all of the three!)

1 Is there a cheap and easy to install fan I could get for the video card?

2 Any other options not involving keeping my house fan next to the case or modding the case?

3 Anyone else have this problem, or any experience in trying to get an RMA? (my last resort, as I'd rather not deal with the hassle of mailing, waiting, and finding a replacement video card in the meantime)

Much thanks!

It looks like you just might have to RMA your vid card cause it shouldn't be overheating so much.
You might get by on adding a different hsf but if you do take off the old heat sink and fan, you will be voiding your warranty, so I would think about it.

I agree with mavrick on this one. it shouldn't overheat, and you should never have to mod anything to make it work correctly at default settings.
I'd get a replacement while you can.
