PNY GeForce 7600GT and 3dMark06

I recently ran 3dMark06 on my QPack (X2 3800+, PNY 7600GT, 1 GB DDR400, Audigy 2 ZS) and I only got a score of around 2800. According to what I've read, it should be hitting more within the 3500 range. I am running the latest drivers. Is there something that may be wrong?

Update:

I updated the mobo's BIOS due to an audio problem that I was encountering. I reran 3dMark06 after a reformat and received the following scores:

3dMark06: 3166
SM2.0: 1293
HDR/SM3.0: 1168
CPU: 1515

Before fixing the problem I had, the scores were:
3dMark Total: 2804
SM2.0: 1291
HDR/SM3.0: 1151
CPU: 767

What makes it a little better now too was the fact that my 7600GT will only cost about $125 AR, which seems to make it quite a steal.

What were your clock speeds for the 7600GT? And yes, that is quite a steal...although I hate PNY...

Clocks are 560/1400. I've heard some negative things for PNY, but it was just a killer deal: Save $30 when purchasing it with an X2 3800+ and then the $20 rebate on top of all that ($175 - $30 - $20Rebate = $125 total 🙂)

When I first upgraded my computer from a 3000+ Venice and Integrated graphics to the 7600GT and X2 3800+ I was having some weird audio problems and a low 3dMark06 score for the card. After finding some secret motherboard bios update (using MSI's LiveUpdate program), the audio problem went away and running 3dmark06 came up with much higher scores.

well your GFX card scores didn't really go up any (they are in the MoE), but your CPU score doubled, maybe that your old bios wasn't allowing the second CPU core to work.

Most likely. I'm just glad my computer is acting the way it should after I upgraded it.
