pny Geforce 6800 (not GT) with 16 pixelpipes!!!???

I was browsing around newegg for a card that is suitable for my new ASUS a8n-sli premium motherboard and I saw this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133155http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133155

Is this a typo on the product specifications?

I am aware that certain AGPgeforce 6800 cards advertised as having only 12 pipelines can be tweaked to a 16pipeline. (applying to AGP based cards only). But i never heard of a PCI-E geforce 6800 (non GT) with 16 pipelines. and i heard that its impossible to unlock a pci-e varient of this card from a 16pipesline to a 12.

Does this pci-e 6800 card really have 16 pipes enabled?

EDIT----- meant to write 6800, my bad.

What the?

PNY's website listing for that card does say:

22.4GB/sec. memory bandwidth
3.9 billion texels/sec. fill rate
406 million vertices/sec. setup
16 pixel pipelines

Could the part about the 16 pipelines be a misprint? How man texelx/sec and vertices/sec would a reference 6800 get? What would be the memory bandwidth for a normal 6800.

If this is true, it's hot! You could try to SLI two of these puppies (though it would suck having only 128 MB to use).

However, since this is the first we would have heard of it and since it doesn't seem to make much sense from an (inflated) pricing perspective, someone should obtain confirmation from PNY. I'd want confirmation from them before purchasing.

How so? The 3.9g fillrate could easily be a leftover typo as well, especially if they copy and pasted the old 6800NU info over to this new model card.

I just got mine installed which I mentioned I had ordered a week or so back. RivaTuner says 12/5 configuration. I will be trying to get ahold of someone at PNY this week regarding the obvious misprint on their own website. The only thing newegg would do is offer me a refund and return it. With any luck PNY will step up and offer up a GT for me, but for $165 I'm not going to complain too much. It's still a hell of an upgrade from a 5700 Ultra.

SunnyD I can`t believe newegg censored your post :disgust: I guess they get rid of any negative reviews . I get mine tomorrow and probably will return it ,only ordered it because I thought it could be a 6800 GT . I guess it was too good to be true . Now I`m very skeptical of all the reviews posted at newegg .
