Newegg has the PNY Geforce 4 Ti4200 64MB card now for $168 with free shipping

It's nice to see it has a good cooling system for the ram, unlike the gainward.
Does anyone know what kind of ram this thing uses, or how well it overclocks? I haven't found any reviews

I'm going to decide between it and the Gainward GF4 TI4200 with 3.5ns that didn't overclock well at all, maybe a bad overclocking card(friend now has it)

Any thoughts?

Edit: The Gainward hit 310/573 (which is a good overclock from normal ti4200s, but for the hardware it's not a very good overclock)

I have this card but I haven't bothered overclocking it yet. It's very fast without overclocking... When I overclock it I will post my findings.

Damn, sorry it took so long to get back to you... I can play around with it tonight and get some numbers for you. The HS/fan on this card is loud - louder than my P4 retail HS/fan!

275/550 right now... Ti 4400 speed. The nice thing about this card is that it has RAM sinks and a really good GPU cooler on it.

Testing 300/600 right now... Ti 4600 speed. I hope the card can handle it. 275/550 was perfectly stable with no visible glitches artifacts. :)

300/600 is working great right now - no artifacts or lockups at all. :)

I'll update again tomorrow after some more testing.

Didn't Anandtech give this card a silver award or some such? I'm deciding between it and the Gainward Ti4200. Gainwards have a history of being overclockable. My current PNY GF3 Ti200 runs overclocked at 210/480.

Thanks man..that sounds good..even if it doesn't quite hit 600 i'll still be happy, plus can't go wrong with tv-out and a lifetime warranty, gainward doesn't have that.

Glad I waited..I had a feeling with that nice cooling system it had to be good :)

It ran 300/600 all night without a hitch. This is the best card I have ever owned in every way - even my VT Ti 200 didn't overclock this nice. BTW, am I the only one with the PNY Ti 4200? It would be nice to get overclocks from other people to get a more even perspective on this card.

Good :) Hope mine overclocks that well..still a little worried that it's not going to overclock that well, wish it said on PNY's page what kind of memory it used, I tried calling their tech support and was on hold for about 20 minutes..I just gave up.

Here's a screenshot for you guys - it's still big for a gif (652 K). Screenshot I think the 3DMark score is a bit low, but it doesn't matter - I usually play with Quincunx AA. With Quincunx AA on I get 8614, which is great considering I only got 7500 with no AA on my VT Ti 200... :D

I used an application called RivaTuner. Do a search on google for it. It's a very common download.

Little update for anyone who cares, I saw a Abit GF4 on pricewatch for pretty cheap and the vendor was about 5 mins away, so I went and bought it. Came back home and put it in, tweaked a bit and overclocked a little. Amazingly with 4ns(500mhz rated) this card can run 3dmark twice stabely @ 630mhz, and core at 335! I was having some problems with rivatuner, but after I fixed them up I ran 3dmark at 310/614 to give the best 3dmark score for Ti4200 + Athlon Thunderbird I am very happy with the card (170 with tax) and would recommend it.

Edit: I haven't even tried past 335 core and 630 memory so it may go higher.

That's a great overclock Furor! Do you have a link to a pic of this card? I am interested in the kind of cooling used on it.

Thanks. Does your card have RAM sinks on it? It's interesting your card got so high with no RAM sinks.
