My PNY 6800GT works perfect until i play 3d games at high settings. For example, call of duty runs perfect at 640x480 with low details but when i turn it up to 1024x768 with higher settings the game freezes. And it freezes in the same couple of spots, and only the video freezes as i can still hear the audio running smoothly in the back. I have to hit escape to go back to the main screen, wait a few seconds and then resume the game to continue properly.

prime95 and memtest show no errors and I have the same problem with Jedi Outcast and Doom3 so its got to be the video card. my gt is running at stock settings, idles at 55C and peaks at around 70C.

any settings i can try changing? i tried turning fast writes off but it didnt do anything. Id hate to have to rma it and wait for a replacement, but if i cant fix it by monday its what ill have to do.

my system:
a64 3400+
dfi lantparty ut nf3 250gb
1gb kingston hyperx pc3200
antec sonata with the psu it came with
winxp pro sp2

any help appreciated!

Could be a bad/older bios??? I flashed my EVGA 6800U to the latest bios and fixed the same problems you are having.

Check PNY's site for a bios update
