Pny 6800 to BFG 6800gt worth the upgrade?

I have been offered a trade for my PNY 6800 which I run at stock speeds for a BFG 6800gt. Is there a noticable speed difference to justify the $130 upgrade? I really like the BFG lifetime warranty and figure that you can't really go wrong. Will the 2.4ghz newcastle hold back an overclocked 6800gt by the way?

Have you tried unlocking the pipes on the 6800?

Save your money, and buy a future 20 (24?) pipe $399 part if you're unsatisfied with its performance.

I forgot to mention that the PNY 6800 that I have is unable to unock the pipes or vertex shaders and also doesn't overclock very well so I just set it to the measly bfg overclock. BTW: I cannot wait for a next generation card b/c I am sticking with agp.

I dont think so. You aleady have a great card that can run anything out there. Have you tried better cooling on it..for increased oc'ing?

no...I may just look for someone selling a 6800 that can unlock both the pipes and shaders.

The 6800 is an excellent card even without the unlock. Def go with an AM cooler for more OC.
It blows away both my pci-e 6600GT (when single that is😉)
