The closest Circuit City to me (Wilmington, DE) showed it as in-stock, so I ordered and went to pick it up. When I got there they had a 128MB 5900 SE, but I pointed out that wasn't the right card so they looked again, returning with some other 128MB 5900. I pointed out again it wasn't the right card, so they had me go to the computer section and look for it. I asked one of the people in the section about it, he checked the stock room and found nothing, and then checked the computer, which said the store had two total. He then went to all the video cards and checked the brand/model number, and found that it matched the first card they tried to give me, so I just asked for a refund. Somebody else might have better luck substituting another card for it, I'm pretty sure the second card they offered me sold for more than $219.

edit: here's the card they tried to give me (same part# as listed on the CC website) - http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=310503&pfp=BROWSE

This is not that great unless you prefer to buy from B&M. Newegg has several varieties of the 5900SE or XT for less than 190. For 219, you can get a full 5900.

FWIW, the model number of the card listed in the description is the 128mb SE version that can be had at newegg for $209. It's still not a bad deal for instant gratification, but I doubt that anyone will be able to talk CC into substituting an Ultra with a different model number.

OTOH, if anyone actually does this sucessfully, feel free to post details ;)

Hey guys thought I'd bring this one back seeing as I may have inadvertantly crapped it.

According to a couple folks over at a similar thread on pudgy pocketbook, even though the BOX is a 5900XT, in some of the boxes, the card is a 5900U (as indicated by green pcb with black heatsink, versus blue pcb and no heatsink on the XT). Obviously a ymmv, and it doesn't work for me anyway because I can't spare the PCI slot, but I didn't want to do the OP a disservice.

will pm the OP for title edit, sorry guys.
