NOTE: The rebate form photo for this PNY memory shows a package that says: DDR 3200 ONLY.

I saw this same package at CompUSA today. It is NOT compatible with DDR 2700 or 2100 systems. First time I have seen this. May be a problem for anyone with a 2700/333 or 2100/266 system.

"NOT compatible with DDR 2700 or 2100 systems."

I don't believe it. Probably a marketing ploy to sell their old stock of 2100 an 2700. It doesn't make logical sense that ram can't operate at lower MHZ.

Maybe it is true.. i just DOUBT IT!.

Googled to several forums detailing problems with this RAM. I looked at the same package at CompUSA today. They are VERY clear. On front it says DDR3200 ONLY. On the back it states that it is NOT compatible with DDR2700 systems.

May be too good (cheap) to be true. I just called PNY at 877-OUTPOST and cancelled my order.

The Outpost website does NOT say that this is the 3200 ONLY memory. It provides very few details. The rebate form has a picture of the same package I saw at CompUSA. It DOES read DDR3200 ONLY on the rebate form. They did not argue with me at all when I asked to cancel my order.

I ordered this ram Monday night and got it here in Texas today, Wednesday (with the 4.xx shipping). I was afraid that it wouldn't work with my computer, but fortunately it worked without a hassle on my pc2700 setup. I received the exact same package as on the rebate picture. I, too, was skeptical how this ram wouldn't be backwards compatible, but here I am safe and sound. The only thing to worry about now is the rebate.
