I give kudos to SunnyD for finding this. PNY's site and several vendors list this as a 16 pipe 6800NU. Anyone want to bite and see if it's true?

Further investigating revealed that PNY did not appear to be listing their 6800U part on their site any longer. It appears that they are dumping their stock of 6800U cores by throwing them onto 6800NU boards. If my hunch is right, these should have no problems hitting 400+mhz on the core easily. Your only downside is that you have 128MB of memory, running at 600mhz at that. Hopefully the memory can hit 800mhz when overclocking, so that will help reduce the hit you'll take running at high resolutions and/or AA/AF.

Still, for the price, this could just almost be better than the Sapphire GTO2.

*Edit*
pxc makes a valid point in the original thread that the cooler on this thing is weak. So, for those of you who do plunge for this and are hoping to hit 400mhz+ on the core, you're probably going to want to upgrade cooling solutions.

Also, since this is most likely an NV45 core on a 6800NU PCB, that means Purevideo will only be partially functional on this card. Has anyone purchased one yet, and is it actually 16 pipes?

I give kudos to SunnyD for finding this. We've confirmed from PNY that this part is indeed a 16 pipeline, PCI-E 6800NU.

I don't know...I'm ready to jump on it though...just need some sort of confirmation that it would run WoW @ 1920 x 1200...using a 2405FPW.

At medium settings without AA/AF, I'd think you could manage just fine. However, I'm going from guesswork here, so I'd definitely wait for a sort of confirmation, or more opinions, perhaps something more solid than mine.

Cool...thanks! :) I've been trying to avoid spending more then $200 on a vid card since the ONLY game I play is WoW. Heck, for everything else, the x300 on my Dell 9100 is fine for the 2405.

Well I did order one since there's not a GTO2 to be found anywhere, I'll let you know what happens when it gets here. Worst case scenario is that I call PNY and say I ordeded the card on the pretext they advertised a 16 pipe card and they will honor it.

I seriously doubt it is a typo though. PNY is the #1 NVIDIA partner in the world. I believe they are also the #1 OEM card provider, and that being said it is probably a 16-pipe card (I believe 6800NU 16-pipe cards are out there in Dells).

Yes, update please!!

Sorry - I've been working on the upgrade this weekend.

RivaTuner says it's only 12 pipe. :(

I will be contacting PNY regarding their specifications. Even so, you can't beat the price. And since it's on sale further - I'm definitely going to try to get newegg to credit that $20 too. Killer deal, espectially with the free shipping!

Too bad, its not 16-pipes. You know you could sue them for the false advertisement, maybe you could get them to exchange it for a 6800GT? Lol.

I wouldn't waste my time. Nor my money. The cost of a lawyer + trial fees > a 6800GT let alone 2x 7800GTX SLI.

No, I haven't bothered. They changed their site before I could find a phone number of someone to talk to (there isn't one... at least not with a live human on the other end). Besides, for the price, I am quite pleased with my upgrade from a 9500 Pro to a 5700 Ultra to a 6800nu... 60fps in Ironforge in WoW is definitely an improvement over 10fps.

It's still an excellent deal imho.
