PMs don't seem to send

I've recently tried sending out some PMs but it doesn't look like they were sent. The private messages count doesn't seem to increase at all, and they don't show up in my outbox.

Can anyone give me some tips as to what I need to do to be able to send PMs? Thanks!
 
Do you have it set so that you save outgoing PMs?

UserCP >> Edit Options >> Check off under private messages "save a copy of sent messages"

Or do it manually for every message.
