Is the private messaging system on all vBulletin forums so terrible or is it just on Anandtech? No "sent" mail box, doesn't have threaded discussion, etc. You'd think this was an email system from the 90s. vB has been in development for 15 years and it is unfathomable that the PM system is still so awful.

But I notice that at the bottom of the page, it claims that this is vB 3.xxxx

If true, what is the reason we are still using such an ancient version? Maybe updating would modernize the PM system

Not sure what you mean by no sent mail box, but if you're referring to having sent messages saved in your sent folder, you don't have that enabled. You can enable it in your usercp.

It's easier to blame others than suffer through one's own ignorance.

Well ... this is the last GOOD version of Vbulletin!!!

V4 and 5 are slower, garbage, ugly and a waste of time!!!!!

Be thankful we are on this version! (I sure am)

Thanks for the reminder, need to clean out my PM inbox.

If you're not familiar with this trick already, do a page search for "Download all Private Messages as" and select the TEXT option. Download the TXT file, then copy & paste the contents into a searchable email account like Gmail, and finally delete your existing messages. That way you can both free up your inbox space & also have a searchable history of all of your messages
