PM suggestion - maybe as a bonus to subscribers

While I usually just type or cut and paste in a signature at the bottom of my PM messages, I was thinking it'd be nifty to have the signature option available in our PMs, just as it is in our profile on the Forums in general.

Since many of us already include our Heatware ratings(or means of contact) in our profile signatures it might be of additional benefit having that info in PM signatures - maybe limit it to fewer characters if it's a space/performace issue.

How about it? 🙂

Interesting suggestion... As a take on this, what about a button for subscribers that would insert a signature or customizable bit of info. Either that, or a check box that you can select to include the signature info. That way, your pm's sent to people aren't full of people's absurd 10-line system rig info.

Part of the reason I see suggestions such as this as subscriber-only is as an incentive for someone to subscribe. Most all of the subscriber benefits are merely "boosts" to normal functionality. You can still basically do everything as a non-subscriber, just with more steps. Subscribing brings some added, sometimes streamlined, functionality. Rather than taking more things away, I'd rather see my money spent to add functionality to the current setup.

I don't think it should be subsriber only...

That's not what the forums are all about, all new features from now on shouldn't be for subscribers only, although there should be a few "big" ones to get users to subscribe if they want.

Personally I don't mind the advertising, I don't mind the PM limit (barely use PM's anymore anyways) and don't need the forums any faster (they're speedy enough for me)

Granted later on I might consider becoming one to support anandtech and make sure it's here for the future...

Personally I think that'd take up too many resources, as PM's happen a lot more than say a moved thread...

Just my opinion though...
