I need some help guys. I am planning on getting an AMD athlon XP 2500+ Barton with an Abit NF7. I have a 160gb card and would like to know what cooling will do to get Win XP working with stability at 2.3-2.4ghz. Does overclocking lower ur FSB? And the fsb for the 2500+ is 333 is that ddr or is it really just 333? What other components will I need and of what type? One more thing the 1700+ (that highly OC'able one) can reach 2.5, but can u make it 333 fsb by overclock? The FSB determines speed along with ram and the cpu speed determines installation speeds, right? Is there any specific model of the 2500+ Barton i need to get to 2.3-2.4ghz? I am planning on getting 512 ddr ram but of what brand and to what specification (i.e. 3200).

Thanks ALOT,

Jeff

wow, that a lot of questions there! generally speaking, the week 13 and later bartons OC the best. i wouldnt count on 2.4 on air cooling, i'm not saying it isnt possible, but you will prolly have to pump 1.85V+ to get it. also, very few 1700+ get to 2.5 w/o watercooling. most people run 1700+ and 2500+ @ 400 Mhz fsb, not 333. hyperX, XMS, twinmos, and buffalo are all good ram
