PLZ Recommend a Good/Great Gamepad for around or under $30

Okay, well I got my new P4c rig put together, and I decide to wet my baby toe back into the gaming pool. Until the last few days the previous time I played any PC game was like 18 Months ago. And that was a flight sim. Well I can?t find my OLD Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad, so I need to get a new one.

Basically I'm buying this as I will be buying the 'new' GTA Vice City for PC. I went to their site, and they say Keyboard/Mouse is Minimum, but I don?t think that will cut it. I'd really like to spend around $20 for a good USB gamepad. I'd spend up to $30 if it were really worth any extra features. Its been a while so I'm sure I can get something good in that price range, but I'd like a experts opinion. I have no idea what I can get for that $$, but I'd like at least buttons for both index fingers, and a 'little thumb-joystick' on the left side.

Got all that. Thanks and keep the recommendations a' flowin.

Check out logitech the cordless rumble pad is about $50, $30 for the corded version. Otherwise gravis or saitek one.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm not really interested in anything cordless, for now anyway. I was checking out the ThrustMaster Firestorm Dual Power USB pad, with dual Force Feedback. Has anyone had any probs. with this one?

I always use a Gravis Gamepad Pro USB - they look & work identical to a PSone/PS2 controller. They're only about $20, iirc. No drivers needed for Windows XP; just plug them in and go. They work great for emulators (SNES, NES, gameboy, etc.) too.

I agree with NTB - I have two Gravis Gamepad Pros (USB) and also have a Sony Dual Shock 2 Controller for the PS2 that I have hooked up through a USB converter, and the Gravis Gamepad rivals the DS2 without hesitation!!! Now, you can also look into the Gravis Destroyer Gamepad if you wanted more bells and whistles, but I don't think you would need it.

These gamepads are awesome. All my friends who used sidewinders and logitech gamepads wound up switching after I picked one up. 😀

Now I use a dualshock -> usb converter and play games on a ps2 gamepad. This setup would probably run slightly more than $30 (~10 - 15 for the converter and 20 for the dualshock. I think the dualshock 2 is $25)

Had mine for over a year now ,never had any problems with it.I use it for racing type games etc in WinXP.The 13 buttons and force feedback are nice,it has a nice rubbery grip .
