one that is database driven so that information about files can be sorted.
for example,
we have a huge contracts folder that our management wants to make better sense of.
right now, all we have is a bunch of folder seperating the different companies.
They want a system that goes a step further and can be searched to sort the files by:
*listing all the contracts that are expiring this year, or any year
*list all contracts that are signed with a certain vendor
*list all contracts that have expired.
and so on and so forth...
I want to add accounting features to it...for example, I need to track:
*when the file was last accessed and by whom
*ability to store different versions of the file after each modification
does anyone know of a good file management system like this?
I looked at sharepoint and it's pretty good but I feel there may be better software out there....
- TIA
