plz help with opening a port

i have several pc's at home. they all share a single dsl line. the dsl modem is in one pc and then the rest are hooked to it by LAN

the problem is... when i play quake3 from my pc (not the one with the dsl modem) and my friend wants to join over the internet i can tell him my ip address no problem, but i dont know the port, q3 defaults at port27960 but that port isnt open in the pc that has the modem. so it chooses another port (at least thats my understanding)

i have heard that if you open the default port on the gateway then people can connect with that port number.


any help would be appreciated

you have to open the port on your router/firewall
provide info on brand and model and i'll help you further

i use sygate 4.0 and it does all my internet sharing

i have an internal dsl modem and a nic to connect it to my home LAN
