Plz help windows weird!

okay so i start my computer adn it is saying cd rom error press alt ctrl delet to restart. i do i again and it is the same thing. i restart agian and it shows a horizantal line at the bottom made up of verticle lines. then after a long time it loads windows. after that is is black for a long time. then everyting works fine (works fine but is very slow) until i get to my destop. then and window i open is very jumbled. windows only. right now i am scanning for viruses with avast and so far none. and suggestions?
 
it's not a virus or spyware.....proof is that ur having system level problems (aka, before windows boots).


Download and try a memory tester.....try a differnt video card. I bet it's that or your motherboard/cpu is haivng problems.

well i rerestarted and i still see the low horizaltal line but it loads faster. on in widows everything seems to be fine....... but it is still pretty slow. here are my comp stats

ati 9200
amd xp 2700
mobo= aopen ak79g-vn
ram= pny 512 ddr

anyother info just ask.
