I just finished putting together a system and it freezes at the Award bios screen. I can not get into the bios to set anything. It recognizes my video card first (Geoforce 2 MX 32 meg) and also the Athlon CPU, but freezes at the BIOS screen My system is a AMD Athlon 750 with an BCM QCS-750 motherboard, 128 meg crucial ram pc-100. The floopies and hard drive do not get accessed then. Please tell me it's not my motherboard and something simple. I really appreciate all your help.

Thanks

For now I'd try reseating the video card, cpu and memory, and also find the "clear cmos" jumper on the motherboard and jump it for a minute or so. Then set it back to normal and try to boot again.

I tried reseating everything, no go. Extra info: fans all work, athlon approved Enhance 250watt power supply. I hear one beep before it freezes. My motherboard is jumperless. How do you reset CMOS then (detailed as possible please)? I left the battery out, that did not work.
Thanks

Temporarily unplug the system fan from the motherboard and reboot. Faulty fans can do this. as well as bios issues. I have seen this with Gigabyte boards. I don't know if this will apply to you . Good luck!!!
