I have a pIII but i dont know whether it is tualatin or coppermine. i don't have the box of CPU so how will i know. When startin the

computer it seems to be 1100 mhz but when I run the 3dmark, it seems 1120 mhz...

are there 1100 mhz tualatins or 1100 mhz coppermines or 1120 mhz coppermines or 1133mhz......... and so on.My motherboard is asus

cusl2-c and my system seems to work proper. Is it a high possibility that i have coppermine? if so, i've heard about some problems of 1100 or1100~ mhz coppermines.

will u please help me! thank u and sorry about my English:(

The problem a long while ago was when Intel released their first attempt at a 1.13Ghz processor (a Slot 1 version). Less than 200 of those were sold, and to my knowledge all were recalled by Intel.

You processor is the cD0 stepped version that was only available as an OEM part. The Coppermines with cD0 stepping run at 1.1Ghz just fine, and others have gotten cD0 stepped coppermines to overclock past 1.3Ghz. Looking at Overclockers.com's CPU Database, there are two entries for Coppermine 1.1Ghz P3s; both claim to be able to clock to 1.3Ghz stable.

The reason your processor reads as 1.12Ghz is probably due to the motherboard - some motherboards aren't quite clocked to the exact mhz front side bus rating. For example, my P3 700E reads as 702mhz at stock clock, and at 935mhz when on a 133mhz fsb (where it should be reading 933mhz). It's not really anything to worry about, as your motherboard is probably just running on around a 102mhz fsb when it's set to 100mhz (102mhz fsb x 11 CPU multiplier =1122mhz).
