Plz Help Getting Rid of "Windows Logon Popup"??

I just reinstalled Win98, but now there's this Windows Network Login popup everytime I start. I could just click OK or CANCEL, but it's hassel I never had to deal with Win98 before? What's changed? and How can I stop it from popping up everytime I restarted??

Maybe this is an idiotically simple question, but I appreciate an answer. Thanks.🙂

do a search for all your *.pwl files, delete them, restart and one it comes up again, just press cancel or dont enter a password, (its one or the other) you should never see it again.

You need to go to your network properties (right click on network neighborhood and then properties, or Network under control panels) and set your "primary network logon" to "windows logon". It is probably set for "client for microsoft networks" which will always prompt for a password.

If I remember correctly you should leave the password totally blank and press enter/click OK...

GundamF91, do this. This is the proper way to get rid of it.

That sure helped it. I tried deleting PWL file, but that made loading worse. I had trouble loading Explorer and everything. U guys are right about not having the right logon selected. Thanks. 🙂
