PlusID

Is PlusID a commonly used security feature that is universal through-out platforms?

I'm doing a little A+ study quiz and one of the questions was about Biometric Security and I googled the question "Which of the following is a biometric security feature that allows access to a PC" and came across this website and found it informative on the levels of security but I was trying to figure out if this site was pushing their product. I didn't see any indications but I just trying avoid giving props to a product without knowing so.

Thanks

This is the first time I've heard of PlusID. It's an interesting looking product, but PlusID definitely isn't any kind of a common standard or protocol. Basically, it looks like it's a product made by Privaris that has a fingerprint reader and stores encrypted credentials for a variety of other standard authentication protocols (ISO7816/Smart Card, RSA SecurID, RFID Proximity Cards, etc).
