found guys, thanks for all the help, went to Food-For-Less and they had one there for sale. Apparently Vons, Ralphs, or Albertsons don't carry it, but Food-For-Less does.

Walmart and Home Depot websites do not correllate with store inventory
They always have for me. Do you have an unusual Walmart or Home Depot?

I check at the end of work before driving across town to Walmart or Home Depot to buy something. I've done it dozens of times for various products, and everytime the website was right on (that they did or did not have the product).

I bought my sister a plunger at Walmart...

Try searching for a mop. A plain old mop. Nope, no hits. They'll sell you a fancy swiffer online but not a plain old fashioned mop.

I've driven through Bumfvck, Kansas and even they have stores that sell plungers. And Walmart does carry them - I've bought one there before.

I think you problem was that when you walked in the store you didn't think: "If I was paid $7 a hour where would I put the plungers". Had you done that little exercise you would have easily found them.

Nope, in fact, I have 4 freaking dozen normal plain jane walmarts and home depots around here. If your local home depot only stocks what the website has - well, I suppose they don't have any meaningful electrical section. Or any pipe. Or fittings. Or LUMBER. Or tile. Or carpet. Or kitchen cabinetry. Or appliances. Or paint. Or NAILS.

And if your walmart only carries what's on the website - well, apparently they don't have plungers. Ammunition. Gunpowder. Cookies. Condoms. FREAKING UNDERPANTS.

If you've never bought any of those things at Walmart/Home Depot, you've completely missed the point of both stores.
