I've got a small leak on the max backflow preventer on our furnace. It's a device that couples two pipes together and has a opening at the bottom that is dripping. I'm guessing that the opening is supposed to drip, but I wasn't sure.

Anyone know if a max backflow preventer is supposed to leak to correct flow problems? It would seem to make sense to me as the bottom is an open hole in the pipe.

EDIT: It drips at most once every 10 seconds.
