plugging and unplugging my firewire problem

got a problem where my friend just plugs it in and plugs it out and it shows up ect

i have mine, a 250 gig in a bytecc aluminum case.
with drive set to master
and
i alway shave to reactivate it's damned annoying

anyone know why his drive is in and out and mine requires going through that blasted hd computer management panel.

Um, firewire is a very good connection and usually error free such as your friend experienced. Perhaps you are using the 3rd party driver and windows isn't liking it much? Try the windows native driver for that device, it may work better.
