To make a long story short: my antec true430 died on me and destroyed the motherboard. Both the PSU and motherboard have been confirmed dead.

I've checked my 2 optical drives and they are fine, my radeon9800pro is fine, my audigy2 is fine, and my PCI TV tuner is fine. However, i cannot check my athlon 64 3400+ because i dont have another compatible board.

If my CPU is indeed dead, will i risk damaging my new mobo that is in the mail?

I've done the opposite, a good cpu in a bad motherboard, and nothing bad happened. Your new mobo should be fine, it most likely just won't boot.
