Plugged in Flashdrive and PC shutdown!

Anyone any idea why this would happen? I plug the drive in all the time and its never shutdown - whats worse is that now PC doesnt boot - power comes on but no HDD activity and no monitor

Any ideas?
 
Once my friend had the same problem, he was forced to change the drive.
Also there ere may be a virus. Test your pc and flash drive with antivirus.
