Plug cathode into wall outlet

So I think I'm going to make a lamp out of a Bawls bottle as seen here.

However, he does not go into any detail about how to wire the thing so it can be plugged into an outlet. I thought I would just use something like this but it is out of stock at xoxide and I cannot find it anywhere else.

Does anyone have an idea of how to go about this?

It is that simple, Radio Shack has all kinds of these coverters, you just need to match the volts (12V DC in this case) and meet or beat the amp draw (check out the cathode's specs/packaging).

Could you be a little more specific? I know nothing about wiring, so if I have to rewire something I won't know what to do.

If you're trying to jolly rig some electronics I'd just bring it in to radio shack and talk to them. Those guys have adapters and converters for most everything on hand and will probably explain it to you on the spot.

That is, unless you get one of those pretty girls they hire based on looks instead of technical expertise. Don't get me wrong I know plenty of women with vast knowledge of technology, but my experience has been that radio shack likes to have eye candy on hand... around here anyways. 🙂
