plug and pray irq conflict in win98 help please!

On my friend's system her video card, Diamond Stealth III s540 agp and her Network Card, a Netgear something or other are using the same IRQ.. apparently netgear tech support told her this is why the network card is failing to function but they did not try to give her a solution. There are no jumpers on the netgear card and the only jumpers on the s540 are to change agp modes. I have no idea how to get one or the other to use a different irq, is that even possible? There are two irqs remaining in her system that are not used. Any help please?

You can try moving the NIC to a different slot or go into BIOS and assign an IRQ to that slot.
Either one should work for you.

If the PCI slot that the net card is in shares the same IRQ, no matter what you assign the netcard the video card will share the same IRQ. You will have to move to another slot on the board. Of course the tech support she has doesnt sound like they are too great if they cant offer a solution so I wouldnt be too confident that their diagnosis of the problem is necessarily correct either.
