Has it ever been proven that plucking hairs from moles/beauty marks leads to cancer? I've been doing it for as long as I could grow facial hair and I still don't have cancer...

I've never heard that plucking them was the problem, just that moles that have hair growing out of them need to be watched period.

Plucking hair from moles increases the risk of STD's. You are more likely to get laid if you don't look like a disgusting neanderthal.

Somewhat unrelated, but when you're done shaving, besides after-shave, what's the best way to prevent in-grown hairs?

yeap. and if they ever start to "leak" go in and get it checked out.

i just had one removed about 3 weeks ago. it started bleeding and letting a clear liquid out of it. so i went in to have it looked at. the doctor decided to remove it.

Shave with the grain, rinse razor with cold water = little/no irritation, no ingrown hairs. You might not get as close a shave, but it's worth it.

or just switch out the blade once a week and you can wash with whatever temp water you want and get a close shave with no ingrown hairs.

The reccomendation to not pluck mole hairs is twofold. First, it won't get ingrown and potentially cause irritation if it is trimmed - and also, the hair is an indicator of mole health. If a hair used to grow there but suddenly doesn't, it's an indicator that something has changed and it would be a good idea to get the mole checked.
