Hello.

My cpu is a fx 8320 .. my temps were always between 17°c - 36°c when gaming .. recently i thought that the fan was too loud ( stock fan ) ... so i installed msi control center ( my motherboard is a msi 970a-g46) to control the cpu fan speed, so i set it to 50% and everything was fine.. but the next day when i turned on the pc i noticed that the temps were too high (45°c idle and 65°c while gaming).. so i set the fan speed to 100% again but nothing happened .. the temps are still high and i don't know what to do .. i was looking in the bios settings but didn't find anything that could help ..

I was hoping that you could help me with this issue, because i don't understand what is happening..

I think wherever you are getting your temps from is wrong. 17c is 62 degrees, so unless you keep your house as cold as a meat locker, you shouldn't be seeing that.

Your 2nd set of temperatures sound more realistic, and are perfectly fine and safe. Maybe look at your temps in the BIOS to see what they really are, and just set your CPU fan to 'normal' or 'auto', and it will take care of the rest.

well, it seems like the problem is solved, i just activated cool n' quiet and it did the trick (don't know why, since i've always had it disabled) .. and yes, my house is quite cold indeed hahah.

But do you really think those are good temps?, because i understood that around 30°c idle and 60°c while gaming are safe temps.. if they go beyond 62°c, it would be bad.

62c is good to stay under, 70c is still safe from what I read about that CPU.

But if you read through this thread, people talk about similar temp readings to yours. Despite your first temp readings, there is no way your CPU or socket were those temps. Just leave your fan settings to normal, or "Cool and Quiet", and double-check your other settings discussed in this thread, you will be fine.

If you have manually changed stuff and you don't remember what you did, you can go into your BIOS and load board defaults to reset everything to safe settings.
