Hello,
Ok here is the situation. I had win me and want
win2000 so I BU all everything then Booted in DOS
Formated HD and tried to install Win2000. I have a
tbird setup and my scsi HD(no ide HD's) is on a adaptec
29160 card . OK so i tried

1. from the 4 SU disks
2. from the win 200 cd

From both I get problems I get into the blue setup screen
and then choose mt HD to install on but it says"it is
not a valid Win2000 partion" I reformatted and even
low level formatted and get a unparioned HD in
win 200 setup i create a partion and then it still says that?
But I see no option in setup to partion it?
I want to use FAT 32. How the hell can I get this
o work? should I use the setup repair option
or install please help me? Also if I booy up with the
win me disk I cannot find my HD's like in Win me
Startup the proper scsi drivers are not installed? and fdisk does
not see the HD either?

PLEASE help...
Thanks

[*]set bios to boot from cdrom
[*]as soon as the Win 2K install starts, you will see a message at the bottom that says "press F6 to load..." (brain fart, can't rmember the exact wording), so hit F6.
[*]It will ask you to hit S to specify additional mass storage
[*]Insert your SCSI card floppy disk driver
[*]Highlight the appropriate one, hit enter
[*]Hit enter again to continue
[*]Setup will copy files, then reboot, remove floppy
[*]You can then format & partition the drive

I'm not quite following everything you've tried, here.

When installing Win2k, did you install the 29160 SCSI drivers using the Adaptec driver diskettes during the first part of setup when it detects mass storage devices?

You should also make sure you are using the latest Adaptec drivers for Win2K which you can find here:
Unltra160 drivers

Hope this helps, buddy!

[EDIT] I see conrad and john snuck in while I was typing... I was trying to remember that wording, too and couldn't! 😉
