I recently upgraded from the ME to XP. Everything seems to work just fine, except one major program. It uses HASP protection system and it does work with Win2K/NT and the support for the program says that it does work with XP as well. Only it doesn't seem to be the case, b/c when I launch it I see the message 'Protection key not found'. I reinstalled the app, checked my key twice -- again this warning. But the same program worked w/o any troubles under ME and 2K. I have narrowed this issue to the fact that the XP Pro system restricts access to certain actions, like writing to the registry, uploading drivers that can make the system unstable etc. When I was upgrading from ME to XP it sad it was disabling the HASP driver b/c it found it 'unstable'.
Thus, since I don't want to go back to ME just b/c of this, could anyone pls tell me how I can lower WinXP security settings and allow the actual installation of this driver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
