Pls. help in Q3 Arena re: Video Mode

I was playing Q3 Arena last night in full screen , 800x600 res . I kept alt-tabbing because I was messaging someone also on ICQ. AFter I alt-tabbed a few times, the Q3 screen went into windowed mode, now I play in a small window instead of the screen being fully occupied. Any ideas why this happened?
I have a voodoo 3 2000 video card. TIA
