Pls Help. I am looking for a program to backup HD and then shutdown XP

Somebody has to do it.

I am looking for software that can do a scheduled backup for my computer and then shut the computer down.

My basic plan is to backup all computers(5) onto one drive late at night onto a removable HD. Then swap with a new removable haddrive in the morning. Once a week I will back that drive uo onto DVDs.

I can find several good programs to schedule a backup to a networked drive, but I have yet to find one that will then shut the computer down. I know I can just turn the computers off when we leave the office, but if the computer housing the networked harddrive finished first...the others are hosed.

I figure if I can find such a program, then the front desk worker are more likely to remember to switch harddrives in the morning.

thanks

If you have a WinXP Professional Edition system in the mix, you can use (*drum roll*) Microsoft Backup. Win2000 Pro also has Backup. WinXP Home Edition doesn't have it, however. Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup.

edit: oh, and you want shutdown. Schedule a shutdown.exe task in Scheduled Tasks, perhaps?

thanks. i know i can schedule microsoft backup. i'm just can't find a way to schedule a shutdown.

blind be i, i guess.
