hi guys. i need help!
i just got my k7s5a board and installed it. the problem is that it won't boot up. nothing is showing on my screen and there is no usual sound from the mobo (beeping etc). i can hear the hdd moving and it detects my cdrom, but besides that, nothing else happens. what could be the problem?? pls help me thanks! what are the minimum things that are required to be hooked up in order for it to boot??

edit. i plugged in a xp 1700 in it. is that the problem? how do i determine if it's the cpu problem or mobo problem?

This is the Off-Topic forum, post in the General Hardware forum. This will surely be moved/deleted/locked.

I don't mean to be an asshole, but some of the others on the forum will be. So I'm just giving you a warning in advance :)

this really should be in another forum but...

i have k7s5a and xp1700, im familiar with your problem:

- first make sure you mobo is well grounded: the screws all securely into case
- make sure you have a amd recommended ps search for this theres a amd page
- its a combo of all these things from what i figure, but do these 2 at least and start from there
