Hello.
I've had a problem lately at work of external e-mails taking anywhere from several hours to - believe it or not - 7 weeks to arrive. I have contacted my sys admins, but cannot get a response from them....understandable, they are way overworked. I have looked at the headers of the messages that have been delayed and they seem to get stuck at the 1st server of my employer....they (virtually) instantly go from the sender to my employer's 1st server, then sit there for hours or days or weeks, then, at some seemingly arbitrary time, (virtually) instantly arrive in MS Outlook.
Just seems to be a really weird problem....it's not every external e-mail, it's not limited to all the e-mails of a certain sender, etc. Seems to be pretty random in both who and how long. It also shouldn't be flaging any filters, or anything like that. In fact, the massage that took 7 weeks was sent from about .5 mi. away and contained the text "Want to go to lunch today?"
Obviously, I didn't make it.
I'm assuming that this problem can't be fixed by anything that I can do, but I wanted to see if anyone knew of a solution, so I could reference said solution in my correspondance with my sys admins.
Thanks a bunch, in advance.
