Plotters or Printers

I am looking for a printer that does really good 11x17 prints, since I am too poor to get a plotter. Does anybody have any models they would suggest? I am doing mostly CAD work, and I already have a designated non-CAD printer.
 
I have been looking at plotters for work, and the HP Designjet 430 24" looks like it could be a good deal.

It plots up to D-size drawings and costs about $1,300.00, which is not a whole lot more than many of the larger desktop printers capable of 11" x 17" format.

It is certainly less than the $7,000 we spent on our Draftmaster pen plotter (10 years+ ago).
